Volunteer Opportunities

The Foundation hosts two Patriotic Ceremonies each year to commemorate Veterans Day and Memorial Day.  These events take many “hands” from setting up tables and pop-up tents to welcoming visitors to directing traffic, to helping with publicity to providing flowers for the events.  Clubs and/or individuals can be a valuable asset!

Join us in preserving the legacy of inspirational ceremonies at the Alabama Veterans Memorial Park.  AVMF applauds the great service provided by our dedicated volunteers!

The Alabama Veterans Memorial Foundation operates exclusively by volunteers . The Foundation has no paid employees and volunteers are a necessity!

Help prepare for the Foundation's two major events

These events are held a Sunday afternoon before Veterans Day and a Sunday afternoon preceding the Memorial Day Weekend. Before each ceremony, the Foundation sponsors a workday for general clean-up and repair, as well as a final clean-up on the morning of the event.

Volunteer at the event

Welcome visitors, guide them to the venue, hand out water, drive golf carts, direct the parking, assist with special displays, etc.

Boy Scout Involvement

Support Our Cause

The Boy Scouts have been a vital part of the Park since its dedication in 2001.  They have helped on work days as well as preformed duties during the events; the Eagle Scout projects have been a beneficial and permanent addition to the Park.  These projects have included signs, a Medal of Honor digital kiosk, the paver walkway down the Memorial Trail and a Boy Scout camping area.
