About Us

Alabama Veterans Memorial Foundation

The Alabama Veterans Memorial Foundation created and maintained the Alabama Veterans Memorial Park from 2001- November, 2023 at which time the Foundation donated the Park to the City of Mountain Brook. The City now maintains the Park. The Alabama Veterans Memorial Foundation continues to host events at the Park and support the Park through the City of Mountain Brook.

PARK HISTORY

From Kelly Ingram, the first Alabamian to be killed in World War I to the 437,000 veterans currently living in the State, Alabamians have shown true valor for their country and strong compassion for their compatriots. The Alabama Veterans Memorial Foundation was created to help remember them and to help educate young people about war, peace and civic responsibility.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. ♿️ Beautiful memorial and the trail that winds throughout is paved with bricks. There is a ramp to get onto the trail and it is mostly leveled out. No steep hills. 2 handicap parking spots available near the entrance. There are so many Eagle Scout projects here, I only took a few photos to highlight these young men's efforts to make some very useful, wonderful things for the men and women who fought and sacrificed their lives for war. The memorial itself is something to see. It is a short winding trail that is wheelchair accessible and easily managed by those with mobility issues. There are benches along the way to stop, rest, reset, reflect. The art and the quotations on the inside walls are inspiring. This is a must see if you have not already been here. You can also bring your retired flags here and deposit them in the box available. I believe one of the Scout troops finishes disposal.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Gold star mother's /22 awareness ride three state ride Mississippi, Louisiana,and Alabama 1,500 miles in five days . We visited monuments, and stopped by to visit at the veterans homes along the way .
