Honoring Those Who Have Served Our Country
On Sunday, May 28, 2016, the Alabama Veterans Memorial Foundation in partnership with the Vulcan District Boy Scouts honored veterans at 1:00 PM in the annual Remembrance Ceremony. The Vulcan District Boy Scouts honored our veterans who have been added to the “Honor List of Alabama’s Deceased” since May 2016.
The Foundation dedicated StepStones to over forty veterans, living and deceased and from many American states. The StepStone Dedication Ceremony began at 2:00 PM. Click here for a list of the May 28, 2017, StepStone Honorees.
Tributes included the Blue Star Salute Foundation’s Memorial Exhibit, “Faces of the Price of Freedom” which shows the faces of Alabama’s fallen heroes since September 11, 2001; the Memorial Trail and the Memorial Plaza and the Hall of Honor.
SFC (Ret) Stephanie Whatley-Farmer sang the National Anthem, Bugles Across America played Echo Taps, and family and friends dedicated StepStones to special Honorees.

Admiral Clyde Marsh, Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs, was the Special Guest Speaker. Senator Luther Strange also addressed the crowd.
